Wayne

Wayne Johnson, FCA Head Coach, brings over 40 years of
fencing experience as well as coaching beginning to elite athletes. His
coaching experience aside, he was also selected for two Olympic teams.
He is an invaluable resource on the strip as future Olympic fencers
look to him for competitive guidance. |
Virginia

Starting her fencing career in college, Virginia's
passion for the sport makes her an asset to the FCA coaching staff. Her
excellent rapport with all students creates a fun and engaging
environment where students learn the intensity of this sport with a
light and fun attitude. She epitomizes the culture of respect that is
inherent in the deep history of fencing. She currently teaches foil &
saber, however she does claim a fondness for epee. |
Dennis

Dennis Christensen started fencing in high school where they only fenced
foil. After college, a family and a lengthy time with sprint dog
mushing, he finally came back to the sport with his son Peter in tow. He
brings years as the coach of the Jr. mushing teams which is what makes
him a great disciplined instructor. When he first came to FCA his
obvious classical training made him a very difficult foil fencer, we
made the mistake of introducing him to saber and now he has become the
official FCA Saber Coach along with Virginia. |

THE FUTURE FCA
FCA has finally found it's own
home at 2602 Gambell Street (see contact page for directions). During
the renovation, fencing will continue however, you should email
Jacquie to see what is going on. We have begun the "on-going"
fencing class, which allows fencers to learn at their own pace. Please
check out the schedule page for more details. If you have questions feel
free to click the email link at the bottom of the page or call 771-5963.
